Ortigas, Consunji ink deal for Pasig project

Manila, Philippines, 30 May 2014— Premier property developer Ortigas & Company recently signed an agreement with D.M. Consunji, Inc. for the structural and architectural works of The Royalton—a 64-storey luxury residential tower in Capitol Commons that was introduced to the market in the fourth quarter of 2012. Royalton is the second project awarded to the leading Philippine construction firm after a key item in the Ortigas portfolio, the 53-storey, high-end tower called Viridian, currently being built in Greenhills.

 

A new icon in landmark development

 

The Royalton features an iconic design that marries form and function. Its eye-catching sinuous figure appears to gracefully flow with the wind and its curves come from the unit balconies, which provide proper air circulation and shade from the afternoon sun.

 

“This tower is one of our masterpieces inspired from architectural icons across the world. The tower has character; no unit will be the same—because the design team carefully planned out each line and contour that went into the blueprint. We needed a construction firm that is able to execute our ambitious design perfectly, and that could only be DMCI,” says Joey Santos, General Manager of the Real Estate Division,

 

“It [Royalton] is a big challenge to us because if you look at the finished lines, each floor is not of the same dimension. It’s like a wave. So to me, if you compare it with other buildings in Metro Manila, it is very distinct. It will make you take a second look,” says Jorge Consunji, President and COO of D.M. Consunji, Inc.

 

Residents of The Royalton will have a range of amenities and facilities in the residential tower such as conference rooms, a fitness center, landscaped garden deck, and a lap pool. A unit’s floor area can range from 34 to 154 square meters with prices at P5.5-million to P23.6-million.

 

Since its preview in 2012, the Royalton has recorded robust sales, while continuing to pique the interest of investors and those in the hunt for prime property—largely because of big open spaces and access to premium shopping and retail establishments that are part of the development’s design.

 

Capitol Commons, located at Meralco Avenue, corner Shaw Boulevard, is a P25-billion master-planned development at the historic site of the former Rizal Provincial Capitol. It will have a total of five residential towers, an upscale mall called Estancia that will house well-known brands and restaurants, an entertainment complex called Paragon, as well as the second branch of Unimart.

 

To date, Ortigas has completed the project’s site development and a patch of retail called Gastro, with tenants like Tipsy Pig, Starbucks, Black Olive, Nomama, and soon, Sentro 1771.
